The eco-religious perspective of Moslem intellectual in IRSAD

The idea of environment is not new concept, but in cases of Islamic society where dominantly stayed in tropical archipelago such as Indonesia that faces lack of development knowledge, it become curious. In number of claim, more than 80 percent of Indonesia population is Moslem who directly depends on nature and environment. This argumentation emerged since Indonesia became a nation state that is geographically shaped by various nature phenomenons.
Agrarian custom that is more popular than naval custom becomes a unique aspect of the complex system of this society. Indonesian ocean definitely is wider than terrestrial which is understandable if the Indonesian map is unfolded. Human perspective toward terrestrial in Indonesia it may one of impact of colonialism which was begun since decades in this country. However, the situation was also supported by the tradition of colonialism which brought deep manipulative understanding of generation consciousness toward their perspective on environment and nature.
This manipulative understanding also influenced an educational system that is strictly leaded by misleading of educational purpose and material. Since new order until reformation, the situation does not significantly change. In context of Ciputat where the Moslem intellectual gathers for develop Moslem generation and where the place of science and knowledge are developed for Islamic society the situation does not realize yet. It indicates lack of capacity and knowledge that impact to action and weaker bargaining position of those intellectual groups on environmental issue. It is also stagnation of Islamic intellectual that trapped in religious study which ignores the real situation of environmental degradation.
Initial observation and rapid assessment that was conducted by IRSAD showed that the decreasing of intellectual spirit occurred on Islamic intellectual community since last four years, the situation was also stimulated by loosing of figure that represents Islamic society, and those figure are not being replaced or may not being replaced by generation after, because of the figure is absolute figure that un-replaced?
Accordingly, this situation endorses a group of people to initiate in developing concept and strategy that relate to Natural resources management in context of eco-theology, eco-people, or eco-Islamic education which aims to promote ecological discourses and action through religious capital. In approaching of capital analysis, religious are not accounted as capital which should be considered, the pentagon analysis is a methodology that use to use understanding global aspects that influences managing natural resources in society. By using this approach, it is able to identify a lack of development that should be influenced by government, or NGO, group of intellectual and other interest stakeholder.
